in the street

i can't believe november is almost over. the dreaded holiday season is here. last week was tons of fun. we had the honor of getting to open up for sonic youth last wednesday. such a great show! they played eric's trip and death valley 69. awesome. it really blows my mind when i see people texting and messing with their phones the whole night rather than watch the show. what the fuck? why did you buy a ticket and why are you right in front of the stage doing this???? we went to glasslands for a little bit after the show, but i was exhausted and had to go home to sleep.

john and i got to spend thanksgiving with the agnellos. great people, great food, lots of drinks, and a whole lot of curb your enthusiasm. we stayed up all night watching the whole season. yikes! but it totally ruled. the next day we all went to eat a late breakfast together before john and i got dropped off at the train. we were going to go right back to brooklyn, but the idea of seeing 2012 was too good to pass up. that movie is hilarious! very very entertaining.

also i've been listening to big star non stop lately. oh and go check out that new xmas bob dylan music video. totally weird and creepy.

house of the devil almost had it. i wish i worked on every new horror movie to tell them exactly what they are doing wrong and how to fix it. hows that for self confidence! one day i'm going to make my own horror movie. i got tons of ideas.

this weekend was total girl crazy! friday night i had stay in fun with my friend emily and watched the vhs copy of rivers edge that i just got off ebay. it's such a great movie! i hadn't seen it in forever, and had a real craving for it. buy it now for only 3 bucks. i love ebay! it's so addicting. dennis hopper was the best in the 80s. well maybe not, he was a best every decade. next on my ebay list is out of the blue. so great! saturday night i had go out fun with my girl chessy. we met up at a bar, had girl talk, and drank some cheap beer. it was a good night until the heel on my boot broke and i had to take a car home. bummerrrr. to wrap up the girl time fun weekend i had awesome phone talk with my friend dorien last night. if only all of these rad ladies lived in my city.

jet set

just spent 24 hours in miami playing a diesel party. i'm exhausted. those short trips are more tiring than a full tour. i had to wake up at 4:30 am to catch the flight down there. it was an intense trip but still fun. i think we just confused the audience.

john and i are writing new songs which is very very exciting! we've also been messing around in our practice space with our friend matt. tomorrow got more press stuff to do. the band is trying to get a cover together for the sonic youth show on the 25th. so excited about that show! i can't wait! definitely trying to stay busy before the holidays.

tonight john and i are going to go see that new movie house of the devil. looks like it could be cool....

sleepwalking

i got a crazy fever monday night. it was totally fucked up.

now i'm back to normal. staying up all night watching stupid horror movies and writing songs with john. i've also been listening to rtx pretty nonstop the past few days. i'm supposed to do some year end best of lists, but i realized this year pretty much went by without me buying one "new" record. i bought tons of old shit, but i don't think kiss alive or pussy galore right now! are gonna work. i think i was too busy thinking about my record to care. how selfish of me. anybody got suggestions of new bands to check out?

not being on tour makes me feel useless. also let's all cross our fingers that aerosmith is not gonna make it.

also little girl lost is not a good follow up book to read if you just finished high on arrival. what book could be???

running on empty

i knowiknowiknowiknow. but you gotta understand that there comes a point while i'm on tour and my mind just kinda says "fuck it." i stop washing my hair, start wearing the same thing everyday, i'm eating the worst crap ever, i ignore my emails, and it's really really hard to blog.

now the tour is over. bummer! it was such a blast. thanks to islands for having us, and thanks to everyone who came out to the shows. we finally got our merch, we went through two different vans, fast food and i are definitely no longer friends, i finally got to meet alfie, and halloween was totally awesome! i'm going to miss malissa and dorien so much, but thankfully we are going to do it all over again starting in january. what did you guys dress up as for halloween?

nine is rhyme

seattle was a lot of fun. the show was great! thanks to all the people dancing and having fun in the front. it sucked that we had to miss the vancouver show, but it was a nice surprise to get a day off in seattle. more time to spend with brynne!

after the show we all went back to brynne's place and played some drinking game that walter made up. we also had a dance party, and got to take a trip down memory lane looking at all the polaroids on brynne's wall. so much has changed!

the next day everyone woke up a little hungover, but ready for exploring. we went to fremont, the pike place market, and capitol hill. i found some rad boots and an amazing vintage beatles shirt. max is getting a good start on a new wardrobe. john had no luck. then we all ate some super good thai food at the market. brynne and i met up for bbf time that night, and then went back to the hotel to hang with everyone else. the boys dressed up in suits for us! i wish i would have taken a picture. then we drank some beer and watched true life until early in the morning. it's always hard to say goodbye. bummer.
